Focusrite has released Liquid Mix Version 2 software for Liquid Mix, Focusrite’s DSP-powered Dynamic Convolution desktop unit that delivers 32 channels of EQ and compression simultaneously. The new software release promises improvements and will be available as a free download from Focusrite’s Website in June 2007.
Liquid Mix Version 2 features an EQ sidechain on the compressor, providing an additional one-band EQ to be fed into the sidechain of any classic compressor emulation. Combined with the existing Listen feature, this provides a solution for high quality de-essing and more creative compression. Version 2 also ensures that Liquid Mix hardware follows the software GUI functionality, and promises improved stability on both PC and Mac, even when operating with all 32 instances simultaneously.
The new version offers variable buffer size and supports large DAW buffer sizes to help ensure lower latency operation across all sequencers, and provide compatibility with software packages such as Steinberg WaveLab, Sony Sound Forge and Adobe Audition.
