Harman’s JBL Professional has launched VTX Field Evaluation Program, making a complete JBL VTX/Crown Audio VRack system available for sound contractors and potential clients to audition in the U.S. To launch the program, a complete system comprising nine JBL VTX V25 per side, complemented by 10 VTX S28 subwoofers, four VTX G28 subwoofers and a center cluster of six VERTEC VT4887A is currently installed at the Theater at Madison Square Garden until December 7.

A VTX Listening Experience event hosted by Sigmet Corporation is taking place December 6.

The VTX National Field Evaluation System includes 24 JBL VTX V25 line array speakers, 18 VTX S28 and eight VTX G28 subwoofers, four Crown VRack4x3500HD and four VRack12000HD pre-configured amplifier racks, a 64-channel Soundcraft Vi1 digital mixing console, dbx 4800 loudspeaker management system, including all cables and accessories with system control provided by JBL HiQnet Performance Manager software.

The VTX National Field Evaluation System will then be deployed to provide partial support for 12.12.12: The Concert For Sandy Relief at Madison Square Garden with featured artists including Bon Jovi, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West and The Who.

“With the launch of our VTX Field Evaluation Program, sound contractors now have an unprecedented opportunity to listen to a turnkey large-scale JBL VTX sound reinforcement system,” says Paul Bauman, Senior Manager, Tour Sound, JBL Professional. “Since its introduction, the JBL VTX Series has established itself as a new industry-standard line array and now people don’t have to travel far to hear VTX—we’re bringing it to them so that they can hear ground-breaking D2 dual diaphragm, dual driver technology for themselves.”

Brian Pickowitz, Business Segment Manager for Crown International adds, “The VTX Field Evaluation Program is a great opportunity for people to hear VTX in action and experience the power, sonic accuracy and tight system integration that Crown Audio VRack and Performance Manager software provide as part of the turnkey VTX package.”

The VTX National Field Evaluation System will be available through June 1, 2013 and will be complemented by a number of Regional VTX Evaluation Systems that will be available for audition in East, Central and Western U.S. regions. The program is intended to provide listening opportunities for system specifiers such as FOH/system engineers, consultants and sound designers while addressing audition requirements for A/V rental companies and fixed installations. Types of evaluations include regional 1- to 2-day listening events at larger venues; individual client evaluations at their facilities or a pre-determined location; evaluations at a live event, concert or trade show.

Raul Gonzalez, Field Engineer, Tour Sound, JBL Professional, will coordinate the VTX National Field Evaluation Program. JBL asks that inquiries be directed to [email protected].
