Hi-Tech Audio Delivers Yamaha PM5Ds to Touring Companies

Hi-Tech Audio of South San Francisco delivered three new Yamaha PM5D mixing consoles in companies across the country for upcoming concert tour departures, including Rat Sound and See Factor.

Hi-Tech Audio of South San Francisco delivered three new Yamaha PM5D mixing consoles in companies across the country for upcoming concert tour departures, including Rat Sound and See Factor.

Louis Adamo, Hi-Tech Audio president, explained, “I’ve been supplying consoles for concert tours for over 15 years and I’ve never seen a console move as fast as the PM5D has [since] the manufacturer’s release to prominent tour equipment riders. Fortunately, our long experience as a stocking/serving Yamaha PM1D dealer and our pre-release preparation for the arrival of the PM5D helped us to meet the challenge.” This included having the cooperation and support of Yamaha and longtime Hi-Tech Audio console case supplier, Ascot Superior Flight Cases, and training for Hi-Tech Audio customers by Adamo.

One such recent training session by Adamo was with Rat Sound’s newly purchased PM5D and George Squires, engineer for R.E.M.’s concerts on the Swing State Tour with Bruce Springsteen. The other two PM5Ds were purchased by See Factor of Long Island City, N.Y., for Deep Purple’s ongoing Bananas world tour and Golden State Sound of Santa Rosa, Calif., for use at this summer’s Mondavi Winery Concert Series.
