HOF Audio/Lighting/Vision recently purchased a complete sound system from Alcons consisting of 18 units LR16 ribbon line array modules with ALC4 controller-amplifiers and extensive rigging with four bumpers a.o. In addition, the AIM (Alcons Inclino Meter) digital incline leveling system has been added, enabling accurate bumper positioning.
The choice for the LR16 “The Ribbon” was made after extensive experience with the system during a number of high-profile concerts of the Dutch Horn Ensemble, North Netherlands Orchestra, the Marines band, Gala of the Dutch Song and the TOP 2000 in concert halls such as Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, De Doelen theater Rotterdam, Royal Theater Carré Amsterdam, a.o.
In addition to its Meyer Sound M3D loudspeaker system, the Dutch company HOF needed a more compact line-array system and evaluated several top-brand systems. Sound quality was one of the main decision factors, but also rigging and handling were of importance.
