The Jazz on the Danube festival in Straubing, Germany, ran from the July 16 to 18, 2005, and offered a host of musical highlights that included performances by Diana Ross, Al Jarreau, David Sanborn, George Duke, David Sanborn and Terence Blanchard. A high-quality sound reinforcement system from Telex Communications’ European wing EVI Audio was on hand to assist.
According to six-time Grammy Award–winner Sanborn, “Whether a show goes off well or less well depends to a large extent upon the sound. In Straubing, it was perfect. Absolutely everything was right. For us, this performance, which was the culmination of a successful European tour, really put the cherry on the cake.”
At the Jazz on the Danube festival 2005, the team—led by Ingo Haasch and Sebastian Hesse—used the following systems: The P.A. was an Electro-Voice XLC-System; there were seven E-V XLC, four E-V XLC 118, four EV X-Subs per side; Midas XL4 and Midas H2000; monitors were a mixture of E-V Plasma, Dynacord Madras; sidefill comprised EV 2123 X-Subs, Midas H3000, Midas XL250 controllers, splitters and EQs from Klark Teknik (DN370, 9848, Helix); and microphones were E-V RE1/510.
