PA Plus (Toronto, www.pa-plus.com) recently provided a JBL VerTec system for the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame 4th Annual Gala, held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s John Bassett Theatre. The event aired nationally in Canada on CBC TV on March 5. This year’s event included the induction of Joni Mitchell into the Hall of Fame and featured performances by James Taylor and Michael Bublé. The audio system for the event included 16 VT4889 full-size line array elements and four VT4880 arrayable subwoofers. The system was powered by Crown I-Tech amplifiers with Harman Pro’s HiQnet System Architect software for remote control and monitoring.

“We’re very familiar with the venue so we know what components and arrangements work best in combination with one another,” says Mark Radu, systems engineer for PA Plus. “The system performed flawlessly, and we received very positive feedback from the performers and event producers."
