Jersey Musician Records Single for New Orleans

New Jersey musician Vincent Addesa has written and recorded “The Ghost of New Orleans” and will donate all proceeds from sales of the song to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. The song is available for download at www.DreamMakersMP3.com, an online music service for independent musicians operated by Barber Shop Studios in Lake Hopatcong, N.J. The song can be downloaded in return for a donation of at least $1.

“Like most people, I was saddened by the devastation inflicted upon the New Orleans region and I want to do whatever I can to help support the residents that have been displaced and who face an uncertain future,” Addesa says. “When writing ‘The Ghost of New Orleans,’ I tried to imagine what it must be like to be transplanted from your home to someplace completely unfamiliar. I hope that I’ve successfully captured that concept and that people will join in supporting the hundreds of thousands of victims in their time of need.”

Addesa was recording his debut CD, Out of Time, when Hurricane Katrina hit. He immediately wrote “The Ghost of New Orleans,” and added it to the upcoming CD. While recording at the Barber Shop Studios, he approached owners Scott Barber and Mark Salamone with the idea of offering the song to DreamMakersMP3.com visitors for a donation that would be given entirely to the Red Cross. After listening to the song, Barber and Salamone quickly agreed to Addesa’s proposal.

“Mark and I were inspired by the beauty of ‘The Ghost of New Orleans’ and by Vincent’s generosity,” Barber says. “DreamMakersMP3.com listeners will appreciate the stirring lyrics and harmony. This is a great opportunity for them to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina and enjoy a composition from the heart.”
