JoeCo BlackBox BBR64-DANTE Recorder

JoeCo BlackBox BBR64-DANTE Recorder

BlackBox Recorder manufacturer JoeCo in Cambridge, UK, has begun shipping its single-rackspace 64-channel Dante recorder. The BBR64-DANTE, previewed at Prolight + Sound 2012, was developed as a result of continuing collaboration between JoeCo and Audinate, creators of the award-winning Dante digital media networking solution.

The BBR64-DANTE connects to any Dante-enabled network device from a range of console and converter manufacturers. In addition to recording 64 channels at standard sample rates, it can also record eight channels of analog alongside 56 channels of Dante for capturing audience and ambience. At reduced track counts, it is possible to record at 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz sample rates.

As with JoeCo’s other BlackBox Recorders, audio is recorded in Broadcast WAV format to an external USB2 (FAT32 formatted) drive and can be instantly imported into any Mac- or PC-based DAW. The BBR64-DANTE also offers all the standard BlackBox Recorder safety features, such as “Safe ‘n’ Sound Record Recovery,” as well as providing high-resolution metering and headphone monitoring of individual/pairs of channels via internal PFL bus.
