Klark Teknik celebrated its 30th birthday at PLASA 2004 (September 11-14, 2004, in London). Founded as Klark Teknik Research by brothers Phil and Terry Clarke in 1974, the company became known for its approach to design and development, which continues today.

The first digital delay and reverb units were created in Klark Teknik Research’s laboratory. Its earliest designs eventually matured into the DN360, which celebrates 20 years as a standard graphic EQ.

“Thirty years is a great milestone for Klark Teknik,” comments David Wiggins, Klark Teknik brand manager. “Rarely has a signal processing company been responsible for so many classic pieces of equipment and so many industry-standards such as the DN360 graphic EQ, the DN410 parametric EQ, the DN60 audio analyzer and the DN780 digital reverb, and we’re still doing it today. The DN1248 Plus has become the benchmark mic splitter, and Helix is definitely on the way to taking over the world of monitor EQ. And in just six months, DN370 already looks set to become the next classic from the Klark Teknik stable. We’re looking forward to the next 30 years!”
