L-Acoustics announced its Soundvision Venue Database, which allows audio engineers to download venue data from the L-Acoustics’ Website and immediately incorporate their given speaker configuration in the pre-modeled venue.
The database comprises Soundvision.SVS room data files that have been organized according to venue name, city and country. System design can then be optimized according to the specific venue geometry, allowing the sound designer to fine-tune system coverage, stereo imaging and SPL distribution throughout the audience. Physical installation parameters are also determined in advance.
Paul Bauman, L-Acoustics’ director of technical support, comments, “Soundvision has quickly proven to be an excellent sound design tool with the software prediction and real-world result correlating extremely well. Rather than having to enter venue information, L-Acoustics’ sound engineers will be able to go directly to system design and optimization, which is the fun part! As the Soundvision Venue Database grows, this will become an important asset that ultimately provides added value for L-Acoustics’ users.”
This venue database will only be accessible to Soundvision software owners. For more information, please go to www.l-acoustics.com. For more new sound reinforcement product announcements, visit mixonline.com/livesound/products.
