Linear Acoustic Co-Promotes Second Series of HDTV Seminars

Linear Acoustic, in cooperation with Omneon Video Networks and Miranda Technologies, is hosting a second series of educational seminars for broadcasters planning to move from SD to HDTV broadcasting, entitled "HDTV: Making the Transition."

Linear Acoustic, in cooperation with Omneon Video Networks and Miranda Technologies, is hosting a second series of educational seminars for broadcasters planning to move from SD to HDTV broadcasting, entitled “HDTV: Making the Transition.”

Upcoming seminar dates and locations include May 23 in Universal City (L.A.); June 27 in Gaithersburg, Md.; August 9 in Austin; September 26 in Chicago; October 24 in San Francisco; October 26 in Seattle; and November 28 in Miami.

The seminar program comprises a series of spotlight presentations on such topics as the inevitability of HDTV, fundamentals of video and audio formats, HD building blocks (distribution, routing, conversion, editing, servers and master control) and case studies. The seminars run from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., are non-promotional and are presented by senior engineers from Linear Acoustic, Omneon and Miranda, as well as by leading broadcasters. Technology demonstrations associated with core themes are also offered at the end of each seminar.
