Mercer Media Posts “Film School” for IFC

Mercer Media (New York City) has just completed work on the Independent Film Channel’s original docu-series Film School, which began airing September 10 and continues for nine consecutive weeks. The 10-part series, produced by Academy Award nominee Nanette Burstein with Jordan Roberts, follows four New York University film students as they each struggle to direct a short film.

According to Mercer Media engineers, the fly-on-the-wall production posed interesting obstacles. Re-recording editor Alex Noyes states, “Delivering 10 mixes in a compressed time frame was a real challenge, but it also made it exciting.” Supervising sound editor, Bill Seery, adds, “We had to use every trick in the book to make all the elements come together and shine. We always have a great time working with Nanette Bernstein and her associate Jordan Roberts.”
