Meyer Sound Releases AES Events

Meyer Sound’s CEO/president John Meyer will be presented with the AES’ prestigious Silver Medal Award in recognition of his “outstanding achievements in the field of audio engineering” during Opening Ceremonies on Friday, October 5, at noon.

At booth #336, the new MM-4XP (pictured) miniature loudspeaker—the self-powered version of the MM-4 miniature wide-range loudspeaker—will make its North American debut. A palm-sized box with a face roughly four inches square, the MM-4XP is capable of producing 113dB maximum peak SPL with its onboard amplification and processing. In addition to new products, the Meyer Sound booth will reflect the company’s legacy of innovation with the display of the very first UPA-1 loudspeaker made—still in working order 27 years later.

Meyer Sound’s involvement in the convention will also include participation by longtime Meyer Sound associates Bob McCarthy and “dB” Dave Dennison on a panel chaired by acoustician Sam Berkow titled “Sound System Alignment and Acoustic Measurement,” which will take place Saturday, October 6, at 9 a.m.
