TASCAM DP-006
TASCAM, the Pro Audio Division of TEAC America, has introduced two new POCKETSTUDIO solid-state multitrack recorders: the 6-track DP-006 and 8-track DP-008EX (prices TBA). Both units record at 16-bit/44.1kHz to an SD/SDHC card (up to 32GB) and come with a 2GB SD card, as well as a mini-USB 2 connector for importing and exporting stereo and mono WAV files.
The DP-006 has a built-in stereo condenser microphone and two mic/line inputs. It can simultaneously record two tracks and play back six tracks, and has a dedicated stereo mixdown track. The DP-006 offers two mono and two stereo/mono channels, selectable track modes, dedicated level and pan/balance controls per track, auto punch-in/out, undo/redo (includes Undo history), 128×64 graphic LCD, chromatic tuner/metronome. It also includes a footswitch input and tripod socket hole, and is powered by four AA batteries or optional AC adapter (PS-P520), and an optional external battery pack (BP-6AA).
TASCAM DP-008EX
The DP-008EX has a built-in stereo condenser microphone and two XLR mic/line inputs with +48-volt phantom power. It simultaneously records two tracks and plays back eight tracks, and includes input effects (compressor, exciter, de-esser), 2-band EQ per track and 2-band input EQ for recording, onboard mastering effects (compressor/EQ/normalize), and Auto Analysis Mastering. It also includes dedicated level, pan and reverb-send knobs per track, a 128×64 backlit LCD, chromatic tuner/metronome, a footswitch input, and is powered by four AA batteries or optional AC adapter (PS-P520), and an optional external battery pack (BP-6AA).
