Nathaniel Kunkel
Producer/engineer/mixer Nathaniel Kunkel (Crosby and Nash, James Taylor, Elton John, Lyle Lovett, Linda Ronstadt) recently mixed the Emmy-winning special, A&E in Concert: Sting: Sacred Love. For the broadcast, which earned Kunkel the Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety or Music Series or Special Award this year, Kunkel used Audio-Technica’s AT4055 on vocals, AT4049a for ambience, AT4050 on acoustic piano and ATM35 for percussion.
This musical performance has also become a DVD release from Sting, titled Inside the Songs of Sacred Love. All music for the A&E special and associated DVD was recorded and mixed in surround by Kunkel, employing his Studio Without Walls modular recording system.
