Nile Rodgers Produces, Releases Xbox Halo 2 Soundtrack

Producer Nile Rodgers’ Sumthing Else Music Works Inc., through its licensing relationship with Microsoft Game Studios, presents Halo® 2: Original Soundtrack Volume One. The soundtrack will be released November 9, 2004, to U.S. retail outlets through the Sumthing Else Music Works label, found online at

Halo 2: Original Soundtrack CD features new symphonic compositions by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori, the composers behind Halo®: Combat Evolved soundtrack. Rodgers, the album’s producer, describes, “Visualize a giant orchestra with Martin O’Donnell as the composer and all the artists and musicians contributing as players in the grand symphony that is called Halo.”

The soundtrack also includes all new compositions from bands such as Breaking Benjamin, Hoobastank and Incubus.

Rodgers also contributed by writing, performing and co-producing the track “Never Surrender” with songwriter/artist/remixer Nataraj. This exclusive cut, as well as the “Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix,” includes guitar work by Steve Vai.
