Pearson, Archibald Join Meyer Sound

Meyer Sound announced the promotion of two industry members to new positions within the company: touring sound veteran Don Pearson to technical seminar instructor, and Rachel Archibald, previously marketing projects manager, to director of marketing.

Meyer Sound announced the promotion of two industry members to new positions within the company: touring sound veteran Don Pearson to technical seminar instructor, and Rachel Archibald, previously marketing projects manager, to director of marketing.

Pearson, who co-founded Ultra Sound (now Pro Media/Ultra Sound) in San Rafael, Calif., with Howard Danchik in 1978, has worked with clients including the Grateful Dead, Santana, the Dave Matthews Band, Andrea Bocelli and others. Pearson left the company earlier this year to be an independent consultant.

“We have known and worked with Don for many years,” says Helen Meyer, executive VP of Meyer Sound, “and have always respected his devotion to combining the science of sound and the realities of touring sound reinforcement. Don’s reputation is based on the results he achieved from that work, and we know that his knowledge and experience will be a powerful addition to our educational efforts.”

Meyer Sound’s educational effort is guided by customer service manager Pablo Espinosa and educational program manager Gavin Canaan, who have also tapped Meyer Sound Mexico’s Salvador Castañeda and Oscar Barrientos to provide training locally and internationally.

Archibald, who has been with Meyer Sound since 1999, most recently worked in the marketing department of a CAD software developer.

Says Meyer, “Rachel has run the day-to-day aspects of our marketing department for quite some time and gained not only a great deal of experience and knowledge, but also the respect of the industry,” says Meyer. “She is very in tune with our entire marketing picture—all that makes Meyer Sound unique: the needs of the markets in which we are active, the things that give our products the quality and value for which we are known, and the depth of our commitments to customer support and education. I don’t think we could have found all of that anywhere else.
