Lindell Audio 254E Limiter
Plugin Alliance in Santa Cruz, Calif., announces its new partnership with Lindell Audio, the Swedish designer of analog hardware and plug-in emulations of audio hardware. Plugin Alliance will take over the worldwide distribution, marketing and support for Lindell’s plug-ins. Lindell Audio plug-ins are now available through Plugin Alliance in AAX native, VST and AU formats for Mac OS 10.6 or higher, and Windows 7 or 8.
The new Lindell Audio 254E Limiter ($149 MSRP) is a precise plug-in emulation of the Neve 2254 limiter/compressor that debuted in 1969. The original 2254 was designed for radio broadcast, but eventually used by music producers as a colorful sounding limiter for rock ‘n’ roll. The Lindell 254E Limiter emulates the 2254 hardware.
Lindell Audio’s other plug-ins, now distributed through Plugin Alliance, include the 7X-500 ($99 MSRP), a plug-in version of the hardware compressor/limiter that is Lindell’s take on the FET-76 sound, but with added features like stereo operation and continuously variable attack and release; the 6X-500 ($99 MSRP), a plug-in version of the Lindell mic preamp with passive 2-band Pultec-style EQ and added features that include high- and lowpass filters with variable slopes; and the PEX-500 ($99 MSRP), a plug-in version of the Lindell transformer with passive Pultec style EQ that adds stereo operation, a Mid/Side matrix and additional high-frequency sections.
The ChannelX bundle ($249 MSRP) packages the previously mentioned three plug-ins with the ChannelX shell, which lets users run all three plug-ins at once, for $48 off of the combined individual prices.
Also newly available, the 100% Lindell Bundle ($349) adds the new 254E Limiter plug-in to the ChannelX bundle for a savings of $97 off of the combined plug-in prices.
All Plugin Alliance products are available for fully-functional 14-day demos from a single downloadable installer.
