QSC SC28

Housing preset tunings developed to optimize the performance of QSC loudspeakers, the new SC28 system controller facilitates quick and easy system setup. A 2-input, 8-output DSP device, the controller additionally offers user-adjustable EQ and delay.

The SC28 features 48kHz, 24-bit AD/DA conversion technology with 32-bit, floating-point DSP offering wide dynamic range and low distortion. Balanced, line-level, analog XLR connectors are provided at all inputs and outputs, while all DSP tunings incorporate IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) and FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filtering.

System tunings can be selected by scrolling through a list of QSC loudspeakers found on the SC28’s front LCD panel and selecting the desired configuration (two-way, three-way, etc.). A nearly identical process is used to select the QSC amps being used, as well as each amplifier’s input sensitivity. To accommodate future QSC products, new tunings can be loaded into the SC28 via a USB port found on its rear panel.

Once the SC28 has been configured to match a system, integral 6-band parametric equalization can be added, along with high- and low-shelving filters, and signal delay. Password-protected, the SC28 also provides thermal and excursion loudspeaker protection, as well as a channel-linking feature that can be used to select linked or independent control of stereo channel settings.
