Recording Industry Golf Tournament (RIGT) Set for Monday, June 24

The 2013 Recording Industry Golf Tournament (RIGT) will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013, at Malibu Golf Club, with the shotgun start at 12 noon. Recording veterans Ed Cherney and Al Schmitt will serve as co-honorary chairs for the afternoon’s festivities.

Event producer Karen Dunn of KMD Productions is organizing the event, which will benefit A Place Called Home (APCH), a dynamic community center and safe haven in South Central Los Angeles where underserved youth aged 8 to 21 years old are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, arts, and well-being.

Dunn is now accepting participation entries, whether as sponsors, golfers or both. In addition to the 18 holes of pristine golfing, the day will include a $1 million shootout, a $10,000 Hole-in-One prize, a $1,000 chipping contest and a Golf Channel Swing Fix Video opportunity. Dunn and the Record Plant’s Rose Mann-Cherney will drive the “world famous tequila cart” to make sure all of the day’s participants are playing their best.

Sponsorships are available at $10,000, $6,000, $3,500, $2,500, $2,000, $1,500, $1,400, $1,000 and $750 levels, covering every aspect of the event, from apparel and golf carts to photos, refreshments, the Hole-in-One prize and much more.

“Connecting our young members to professionals in the music and recording industry has turned out to be a big win for all concerned,” says APCH Executive Director Jonathan Zeichner, “and we are moved and grateful to be named as the beneficiary of this year’s Recording Industry Golf Tournament.”
