Leading South African audio post-production specialist Sonovision Studios recently upgraded their studio facilities by installing an APT WorldNet Milano full duplex, multichannel audio codec offering both fixed line and ISDN connection.
Sonovision Studios primarily services the advertising industry and specializes in commercial and TV audio. The studio’s projects have won more than 200 awards both internationally and in South Africa, including the prestigious Cannes, Clio and Loeries awards.
Sonovision Studios sound engineer Paul Geddes says that the decision to invest in the WorldNet Milano was determined by a number of factors. “Firstly, we wanted a high-quality unit that we could use to connect to top studios across the world using an ISDN line,” he explains. “We mainly work with voice-over artists, and so 15k mono was our minimum requirement; the fact that the WorldNet Milano gives 20k is a bonus.
“Having worked with APT codecs in the past, I was also aware of the superb quality and the low latency of the system during international connections,” Geddes continues. “A huge factor in our decision to invest in the APT WorldNet Milano was the fact that many of the top studios we deal with both nationally and internationally highly recommended APT codecs.
