Tannoy North America has recently hired Ivan C. Schwartz to take on the position of Western regional sales manager for the Kitchener, Ontario–based company’s commercial/professional product sector. The position has become available following a minor sales re-organization that sees Derek Black promoted to Eastern regional sales manager for commercial/professional products and Irv Weisman moving to the position of distributed systems specialist.
Schwartz, who will be based in the Seattle area, has been involved with various aspects of sound reinforcement since the late 1970s. His extensive management experience within the pro audio industry has been gained from various high-profile positions, which include president, U.S. operations for DiGiCo, corporate director of product and market development for Mackie Designs, director of marketing at EAW and general manager of Mark IV Pro Audio Group.
Black has been directly employed by Tannoy as a sales representative for 18 months, but his Tannoy expertise extends an additional four years with Power Group, where he was the division manager for Canada. Black also worked for two years with Core Products (Peavey Media Matrix and Atlas) and four years as a music industry arts instructor at Fanshawe College.
Wiseman has been with the company for 11 years as a commercial product sales manager.
