Terra Digital Audio has released the compact MBOOK Series of Windows-based DAW PCs designed specifically to support Digidesign Pro Tools LE products. The MBOOK is available in two models: the 3GHz Dual Core LT ($899) and 2GHz Core2 Duo LX ($1,299).
The LX also features a 320GB 7,200 rpm Western Digital hard drive, 1GB of upgradable DDR2 memory, a 16x DVD-RW drive, dual monitor support (one VGA and one DVI), plus two FireWire and six USB 2 ports. Both LT and LX configurations can be viewed and customized on the Terra Digital Web site.
MBOOK LX also has a Logitech keyboard and optical mouse. It supports the Windows XP Home OS, which is configured for Pro Tools. The package includes Nero Express CD/DVD recording software.
