Tom Holkenborg/Junkie XL Studio Time: Tomb Raider

Tom Holkenborg is one of Hollywood’s most in-demand composers, with recent credits including Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Black Mass and the forthcoming Tomb Raider reboot. The Grammy-nominated former industrial noise and electronic music producer has captivated audiences with his eclectic, atmospheric soundscapes; redefining what film scores can sound like in the 21st century. Today, he’s announced a brand new Tomb Raider-themed season edition of his popular YouTube video tutorial series, Studio Time.

Studio Time has amassed a loyal legion of subscribers over the past two seasons, who track each episode religiously, clamoring for studio insight from one of Hollywood’s most technically proficient composers. Studio Time is free for all to watch and fully funded and produced by Tom. Each episode is a one of a kind, hands-on, how-to guide, with Tom discussing a specific topic that relates to composing or producing; such as hardware sampling, guitar pedals and various other essential producing tools and techniques.

In the first episode of the new season, Tom discusses writing scores around cues, an essential aspect of scoring visuals for composers, breaking down the themes he produced for Tomb Raider.

The forthcoming season of Studio Time comes on the heels of the worldwide release of Tomb Raider, directed by Roar Uthaug. Tomb Raiders is now playing in theaters everywhere.
