Upgrades and Sessions at Pilot Recording Studios in New York City

Pilot Recording Studios in New York City recently upgraded its Studio A with a Pro Tools HD 3 Accel system, Apogee AD-16X A/D converter, Aviom Cue system and several Manley Labs/Langevin Pultec EQ units.

In the first five months of 2006, Al Kooper stopped by to film his segment for the documentary film Hammond Heroes with Pilot’s Matt Shane engineering. Pilot producer/mixer John Leventhal spent much of April and early May recording overdubs and mixing Shawn Colvin’s upcoming release for Nonesuch Records with Shane assisting. Leventhal also recently mixed Rosanne Cash’s Black Cadillac record at Pilot with Shane assisting.

Producer/engineer Will Schillinger has been recording the new record for the New Black, featuring Michael Weaver, Jason Paige and Steve Holley. Producer/engineer Joe Blaney recorded basic tracks and overdubs for the band White Magic with Shane assisting. Mix engineer Richard Alderson mixed two albums for Japanese producer Kawa with Shane assisting; both albums feature Dave Matthews and his Manhattan Jazz Orchestra and Japanese vocalist Chorito. Schillinger and producer Lincoln Schleiffer recorded and mixed Bill Kelley’s upcoming release in Studio A.

Producer Chris Tarrow and engineer Shane recorded basic tracks and overdubs for an upcoming release by Brooklyn recording artist Goodbye Girl Friday. Tango/jazz pianist Roger Davidson recorded his trio featuring David Finck on bass and Paulo Braga on drums for their upcoming Sound Brush Records release, with Schillinger and Shane engineering. Joseph Baldassare has been recording new tracks for the Living Theater Series of CDs on his label Kunduru Music, with Schillinger and Shane engineering. Lastly. Floyd Lloyd has been working on a track with The Fugees, with Schillinger and Shane engineering.
