West Yorkshire Playhouse Selects Sennheiser 3000 Series

The West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds, UK, recently upgraded its wireless mic systems with Sennheiser 3000 Series from Bradford-based Pro Audio Systems.

The system comprises 12 Sennheiser 3000 Series radio mic systems comprises six 3532-U dual receivers, 12 SK3063 beltpack transmitters and two SKM3072 handheld mics. This was augmented with an ASA3000 splitter and active antennae. Also included were a number of MKE-2s for stock. The complete system was custom-racked and wired by Pro Audio Systems and supplied with S-MCD3000HP monitoring software, which is being run via the multicore.

Discussing the purchase, West Yorkshire Playhouse head of sound, Glen Massam, said, “At the WYP, we continually strive to produce the best in theater, which means using the best audio equipment available. For us, that meant Sennheiser for wireless microphone quality and reliability.”

Dave Simpson of Pro Audio Systems added, “As we have a large number of Sennheiser wireless systems in rental stock, we are fully aware of their capabilities, using them in high-profile multichannel events on a regular basis. With this in mind, we were more than happy to specify the Sennheiser systems and be fully confident in their ability. In the event of the Playhouse requiring additional systems for larger shows, we are able to augment them with our own 3000 Series systems and also link in with the PC monitoring software. The frequency plan was also designed with our rental equipment in mind, with the option of operating in excess of 48 channels together.”
