According to Domonic Sack, VP of Sound Associates, “We’ve got the DS800 out on about a dozen shows rights now. We’ve been using the unit this way for several years now and plan to keep doing so.”

Peter Fitzgerald, president of Sound Associates and sound designer of La Cage aux Folles, said, “The best thing we can do to ensure the highest quality in our designs starts with XTA. Since everything digital starts out analog, we need the lowest noise and highest quality in the analog stage before the converters. The DS800 not only provides the mic pre’s we need, but also the analog splits necessary to our show design. La Cage aux Folles is using all-digital consoles from both DiGiCo and Yamaha, but we are relying on XTA in both the DS800 and DP224/DP226, as that extra measure makes our designs unique.”
