ACM Rocks with KRK

The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, UK has chosen KRK Rokit Series studio monitor speakers for six of the sound studios at its three-building complex.

Guildford, UK (October 7, 2011)—The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, UK has chosen KRK Rokit Series studio monitor speakers for six of the sound studios at its three-building complex.

“The Academy here in Guildford has 1,200 full-time and 300 part-time students,” says Antony Greaves, head of audio production for the Academy of Contemporary Music. “We chose KRK because it is such a good brand, and provides an excellent teaching platform for our students to learn on equipment that they will without a doubt be working with in their careers.”

The school, founded over 15-years ago and accredited by Guildford College, Middlesex University, Surrey University and Chichester University, offers programs in everything from music production and performance to music business and sound design for new media. With satellite academies in the United States, South Africa and Italy, the Academy differs from more traditional music academies through its focus on rock and pop music, and its vocational approach to teaching. It offers Diploma, Higher Diploma, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, and Masters Degree programs and is constantly looking to upgrade its facilities to stay current.

KRK monitors are installed in six of the Guilford location’s studios, including the Rokit 5, Rokit 6 and Rokit 8, as well as one KRK10s powered subwoofer.

In addition to the KRK equipment, the Academy of Contemporary Music recently purchased two Focusrite channel strips, the Liquid Channel and an ISA430 MkII.
