AKG Acoustics’ new Discreet Acoustics Compact Series (DAC) comprises two 12-inch and two 20-inch gooseneck microphones with the choice of cardioid or hypercardioid versions, and a hanging cardioid “choir” microphone. Also available is a three-pin XLR-type connector and complete line of mounting accessories.
DAC models CGN 321E ($198) and CGN 521E ($198) are cardioid microphones with a frequency range of 70 to 18,000 Hz and a sensitivity of 18 mV/PA. DAC models CGN 323E ($218) and CGN 523E ($$218) are hypercardioid microphones with a frequency range of 50 to 19,000 Hz and a sensitivity of 12 mV/PA. The CHM 21 ($198) hanging “choir” cardioid microphone has a frequency range of 70 to 18,000 Hz and a sensitivity of 18 mV/PA.
The DAC models use rugged, all-metal parts, making them able to withstand the rigors of portable or fixed installation use. Each DAC gooseneck model uses single rigid wear-resistant 8mm flexpipe between the XLR connector and extension tube. The hanging microphone comes with 338 inches of twist-resistant cable and positioning hanger. The DAC Series comes standard with windscreen and mounting flange accessories, and a complete line of optional accessories for any installation.
