Behringer launched of USB/MIDI controller desks that offer intuitiveoperation with an analog feel. The B-Control Rotary BCR2000, a totalrecall USB/MIDI controller desk with 32 illuminated rotary encoders,and the B-Control Fader BCF2000 (pictured), a total-recall USB/MIDIcontroller desk with eight motorized faders, are expected to ship inthe second quarter of 2004.
The BCR2000 and BCF2000 are total-recall, cascadable desktop MIDIcontrollers with an analog feel and an intuitive user interface. TheBCR2000 boasts 24 high-resolution encoders with LED rings for controlover virtual mixers, synths, samplers and effects processors. TheBCF2000 features eight ultraprecise, 100mm motorized faders for controlof virtual mixers, organ-drawbars (Inverse mode), or virtual synths andsamplers. Both B-controllers are equipped with four virtual groups witheight dual-mode, high-resolution encoders that feature LED rings and anadditional Push function with illuminated buttons that are easilyassignable to all types of MIDI functions, from note-on/off, controlchange and program change to MMC and system exclusive data. Anadditional multifunction foot switch and foot controller connectors canbe used to address all types of MIDI data, and configurable MIDI andUSB modes allow for ultraflexible system integration.
The BCR2000 and BCF2000 also come equipped with features such as 32user presets with four encoder groups, a multifunction 4-digit LEDdisplay with real-time parameter indication, and MIDI input with Mergefunction for cascading several control units. The MIDI In/Outconnectors allow easy connection to any computer/expander. BothB-Controls are outfitted with one MIDI In and two MIDI Outs and genericUSB MIDI support with Windows XP and Mac OS X. Additional drivers andan editor/librarian software will soon be available for free downloadonline.
