Nashville, TN (April 21, 2009)–Endless Analog, manufacturer of the CLASP (Closed Loop Analog Signal Processor) system, has announced that Digidesign has granted it a full developer license. Endless Analog can now develop and release a certified Pro Tools version of CLASP.
“CLASP is very cool,” says Jeff Matulich, head of Digidesign Developer Partnerships. “We think it will add value to Pro Tools.”
Chris Estes, president of Endless Analog, is excited to start giving demonstrations using CLASP with Pro Tools. “We have performed all of our demos of the product with Nuendo and Logic because we were waiting for full access to the Pro Tools SDK,” he says. “Now that we are developing a certified Pro Tools version of CLASP I hope that audio pros will be assured it does work with all formats.”
CLASP, says the manufacturer, successfully bridges the gap between analog tape and digital recording. An electro-mechanical-software controlled analog audio signal processor system consisting of hardware, firmware, and software plug-ins that work with a pre-existing DAW and analog tape machine, the primary purpose of CLASP is to give recording professionals a true analog front-end while simultaneously using any DAW, maintaining the latter’s speed, flexibility and editing capabilities. CLASP provides up to 72 simultaneous channels of recording; three CLASP hardware interfaces may be used simultaneously to synchronize three analog recorders.
Alvin Speights, Grammy-winning mix engineer for artists like India.Arie, Outkast, TLC, Madonna and Michael Jackson, attended a demonstration of the product recently and remarks, “Clasp is hot.
