The dbx 162SL was machined from 1/4-inch aircraft aluminum andboasts handcrafted solid aluminum knobs, LEDs mounted individually inmachined stainless-steel housings, custom VU meters with peakindicators and a heavy-gauge chassis.
In addition to having the auto attack and release, as well as thehard-knee threshold characteristics of the dbx 160, the 162SL offersAutoVelocity manual mode and the dbx OverEasy mode. All of the featuresof the dbx 165A, including its variable attack and release controls,and dbx’s latest limiting algorithm PeakStop Plus, are includedin the 162SL.
The 162SL’s features dual-proprietary VCA modules, includingthe company’s original Blackmer decilinear VCA. Other featuresinclude superfast manual attack/release, high-drive Jensen outputtransformers, ultralow distortion compression and program-dependentAuto/AutoVelocity/Manual/fully variable attack and release modes.
