For a number of tours, rental company Dogus Sound and Light Systemsrecently deployed its new JBL VerTec line array system, including 16VT4889 full-size line array elements and eight VT4880 arrayablesubwoofers. The system is fully powered by Crown MA-5002VZamplifiers.
“After hearing a number of other line array systems from severalother manufacturers, our ownership team and engineering staff decidedthat JBL’s VerTec is clearly the best-sounding, with the mosthigh-fidelity characteristics,” said Hakan Ozekici, co-owner andtechnical director at Dogus Sound and Light Systems. “It’s proven to bea very interesting package to us, and we determined it was worthy ofour investment.”
On July 12, 2003, Massive Attack performed for a crowd of 10,000people at Istanbul’s Maslak Park Orman. “The show was a huge success,”said Ozekici. “I should note, the sound crew for Massive Attack was soimpressed that they elected to not unload the sound equipment truckthat they brought with them once they heard our VerTec system set upfor the outdoor park concerts.”
