DPA Microphones has introduced a professional, cost-effective microphone and preamp system to amplify stringed instruments. DPA has designed the MSS6000 Microphone Summation System in response to feedback received from engineers and sound designers who needed a flexible, easy-to-use solution to mike instruments such as violin, cello and bass.

A single MSS6000 system can control up to 10 stringed instruments, reducing an entire section down to two channels on a mixing console. The system comprises five Stereo Satellite Boxes, each channel offering individual level and pan adjustments, and a Stereo Master Sum Box containing two high-performance, transformer-coupled mic pre amplifiers. The entire system fits into a compact brief case for easy transportability. The system can be set up in a matter of minutes using the smart microphone-mounting accessories for strings, which leaves the instruments mechanically intact and delivers exceptional sound quality and high sound levels before feedback. A complete set of 10 DPA 4061-BM Miniature Microphones is also supplied with the system.

The whole system is powered by two channels of 48V phantom power from a mixing console, eliminating the need for a separate power supply unit.
