Fluid Celebrates Ten Years

New York, NY (October 7, 2008) Original music, editorial, design and interactive resource company Fluid celebrates its tenth anniversary in October.

Launched in fall 1998 by founding partners composer/EP David Shapiro, composer Andrew Sherman and managing partner/EP Marc Schwartz, Fluid now boasts a staff of 35. With its recent partnership with Boom Design Group, the company has extended its reach into interactive web design and development.

Says Shapiro, “We’ve grown incrementally over the years, with the help of so many outstanding talented people. The diversity of what we offer has allowed us to sustain steady growth in challenging times for our industry.”

In addition to providing an integrated array of services, (Fluid recently edited, designed and scored a segment in the Oscar-nominated film, Michael Clayton), each division has been recognized for excellence on its own, winning multiple Clios and Gold Lions. Fluid’s editorial staff is comprised of editors Greg Letson, John Mallerman, Robin Burchill, Scott Philbrook and, most recently, Karama Horne, with lead designer Wes Waldron. The music division features composers Andrew Sherman, Judson Crane and Ryan Lott, and sound designer Fred Szymanski.

Adds Sherman, “Our initial tag-line was, ‘Fluid, we’re better at everything than anyone else,’ but reconsidering, we decided that even if it’s the truth, maybe a little humility might be a good thing.”
