Full Sail (Winter Park, Fla.) has developed new courses focused on advanced mixing for motion pictures and television with its new custom Harrison MPC-3D

Full Sail (Winter Park, Fla.) has developed new courses focused on advanced mixing for motion pictures and television with its new custom Harrison MPC-3D film-dubbing console, which will be installed in its new dubbing theater designed by studio bau:ton.

The three-operator film mixing console with 96 faders will be used to teach the techniques of music, dialog and effects mixing in each of three 32-fader sections. Each section contains its own master panel and conforms to other Harrison MPC systems. The console offers 448 digital inputs, 336 AES inputs, 224 AES outputs, 112 D/A converters and 112 A/D converters, 56 pec/direct channels and a 112×16-output predub stem/monitor summing matrix, plus a 1,344×1,344 router.

According to Full Sail’s Darren Millar, director of industry relations, “We have always attracted students with our promise of providing a ‘real-world’ education. When we researched the marketplace to determine what skills and equipment knowledge were necessary for employment on this competitive landscape, the name Harrison continually surfaced to the top of our list. Future employers are more likely to hire those that know their way around equipment they already use.”
