New convergent cabling from Gefen supports long- and short-distanceHDTV (high-definition television) resolutions by combining fiber opticsand DDC signals into a single cable with DVI connectors. Because videoand control signals are combined, the cabling enables extension ofhigh-definition signals for televisions, projectors and evenDVI-equipped computers. Fiber-optic components ensure the integrity ofthe visual data throughout transmission, guaranteeing high-definitionresolutions up to 1,920×1,200. HDTV Extreme Cables are currentlyavailable in precut lengths of 33, 66, 100, 166 and 300 feet. Theyrequire a 1.5-inch clearance in conduit, and range in price from $609to $2,349.
