London, UK (May 18, 2015)—Session musician, musical director, programmer and educator Donavan Hepburn has adopted Cymatic Audio’s recording and playback products.

Hepburn has worked with Take That as live drummer on every tour, and has also played with Jeff Lynne (ELO), Tom Jones, Adele and Olly Murs, among others. Says Hepburn, “I’d tried other devices but they didn’t quite have what I needed, working with various artists who use some prerecorded tracks laid down in the studio, and then using these track alongside live performances, meant that the unit would have to be solid.”

He continues, “Then in the summer of 2014, Karl Bates of JHS [John Hornby Skewes, Cymatic’s distributor for the UK and Eire] introduced me to the Cymatic Audio LP16 and uTRACK24. The main things that stood out for me was the size, and the fact that correct balance between software and hardware had been achieved. The main purpose I use them for is playback, and both units do this with ease.”

Bates, JHS pro-audio area sales manager, adds, “Donavan purchased two Cymatic LP-16 16-track players, and two uTrack24 24-track recorder/players. What also was very important for Donavan was being able to work closely with Cymatic in putting forward suggestions and implementing upgrades.”

The LP-16 is a direct-from-USB playback system, providing a 16-track audio player, standard MIDI file player, footswitch start/stop and Windows playlist editor, and the ability to work as a dedicated multi-track player for live performances.
