Minneapolis, MN (June 19, 2012)—The Hideaway Studio of Minneapolis, MN, has upgraded some of its gear to boost its mixing and production workflow.
The studio recently replaced its A Control Room Avid Pro Tools Accel 3 with a new Avid Pro Tools HDX system. Operating on an Intel 2 X 2.8 Quad Core Mac Pro with 14 GB RAM, its new Avid Pro Tools HDX system allows for bigger, better and faster mixes with 256 tracks (up to 768) and double the I/O per card, as well as four times more ADC. It also offers higher resolution sound and more headroom, the opportunity for increased power and track counts through additional cards, and supports the AAX plug-in format for better workflow and sound parity with native systems.
The studio also underwent an equipment facelift within its B Control Room, transporting its A Control Room Avid Pro Tools HD3 Accel system to its B Control Room to replace the previously installed Avid Pro Tools 2 Accel. The Avid Pro Tools HD3 Accel supports large and complex sessions, leveraging the power-on-demand capabilities of three dedicated DSP cards along with the processing resources of either a Windows- or Mac-based computer for high performance, low latency and extended plug-in processing power. Additionally, it acquired a Quad Core 3.0 Intel Xeon processor Mac Pro for working with the upgraded Avid Pro Tools Accel 3 system.
