Lady Gaga Was Miked This Way

JZ Microphones were used in the production of Lady Gaga’s "Born This Way" album.

New York (June 22, 2011)–JZ Microphones were used in the production of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way album.

Recording engineer and producer Rafa Sardina (Beyoncé, Shakira, Stevie Wonder) who worked on the album, remarked, “Having worked on so many session over the years I have to say it was really exciting to do some ‘out of the ordinary’ sessions for Lady Gaga using some of my new toys, the JZ V47 and V67 microphones.

“They excell in so many applications, from acoustic bass, to amplified bass, or vocals, strings, and guitar. I ended up naturally gravitating towards them, even though I had a great vintage microphone selection at my disposal.”

The JZ “Vintage Series” includes the V47, V67 and V12, inspired by the Neumann U47 and U67 and AKG C12, but with modern touches to make them their own microphones.

Since it’s May 23rd release, the album debuted at number 1 and exceeded Platinum certification with sales in excess of one million units.
