Hollywood, CA (February 18, 2011)–Grammy winner Ziggy Marley is recording a new album with producer Don Was at Ocean Way in Hollywood, to be released this summer on the Tuff Gong Worldwide label.

Joining Marley in the Bill Putnam-designed Studio B are drummer Carlton “Santa” Davis (Jimmy Cliff, Burning Spear), percussionist Rock M. Deadrick (Ben Harper, Tracy Chapman), visitor / rap artist Heavy D., keyboardist James Poyser (The Roots) and bassist Darryl Jones (Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, Sting).

Ziggy Marley, eldest son of the great Bob Marley, spent time as a child in the recording studio with his father, who taught him drums and guitar, and recorded Children Playing In the Streets in 1979. He has carried on the family spirit with his Melody Makers — selling millions of albums and winning Grammy awards for Conscious Party (1988), One Bright Day (1989), Fallen is Babylon (1997), Love is My Religion (2006), and Family Time (2009).
