Maxwell Corporation of America's professional media products group (Fair Lawn, N.J.) has reached a deal with Full Sail Real World Education (Winter Park, Fl.) to establish a scholarship fund that will aid in tuition and other expenses for aspiring audio and video professionals.
The yet-to-be-named scholarship will be funded by a contribution by Maxell of 15 cents for every dollar's worth of Maxell products that are purchased by the educational institution. Under the terms of the agreement, Maxell will alert Full Sail each time the fund reaches a $2,500 level.
Recipients of the scholarship will be chosen by the heads of Full Sail's Education, Finance and Admissions departments based on their need.
"Full Sail is extremely grateful to Maxell for helping us make our unique, hands-on education experience available to more qualified and committed potential students," said Garry Jones, president of Full Sail Real World Education. "We are pleased that the scholarship fund will allow us to give more [students] the training they will need to succeed."
"Full Sail executives have told us that every year there are talented and motivated young people who apply and are accepted, but find it impossible to afford tuition and expenses involved," said Pat Byrne, Maxell national marketing manager of the professional media products group. "Maxell is pleased to do something that will help the dreams of these people come true."
