Mix Nashville Eyes Tracking Vocals, Gear Giveaways

Capturing vocals is the most critical aspect of modern recording. Going beyond the mechanics of the signal path, the interaction between the engineer/producer and the vocalist is perhaps more important than purely technical concerns in coaxing the best performance out of a singer. Our panel of esteemed engineer/producers will each spend time working one-on-one with a live vocalist on stage to give a rare glimpse into the dynamics of vocal recording.

Nashville, TN (August 27, 2015)—Capturing vocals is the most critical aspect of modern recording.

“Demystifying The Vocal Session” is part of the day-long Mix Nashville event to be held on August 29. Our Moderator/Contributor is vocal specialist Jonell Polansky (Mandy Barnett, Colin Raye, Ty Herndon, Rebecca Lynn Howard). Panelists are Chuck Ainlay (Mark Knopfler, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Peter Frampton) and Bil VornDick (Rhonda Vincent, Jo-El Sonnier, Alison Krauss, Sarah Darling). The trio will be working with vocalist Cameron Barton.

Exhibitors at Mix Nashville have donated gear for giveaway—attendees will visit exhibitors to gather tickets that give them a chance to win.

Mix Nashville 2015 is a production of Mix magazine in conjunction with sister title Pro Sound News and with the AES Nashville Section (producers of the Nashville Recording Workshop + Expo events series), to bring a unique local slant to a global recording industry. Mix Nashville will take place at the newly refurbished facilities of global touring giant Clair Southeast and the brand new stages and production rooms of The Blackbird Academy. In addition to the main stage program content, manufacturer presented master classes and product demos will run throughout the day.

The full Mix Nashville program, bios of the presenters, exhibitor lists and registration details can be found at the event website.
