Questlove was working on new material in the Dangerous room with engineer Ryan West…Late Show With Stephen Colbert bandleader Jon Batiste was in the Dangerous and Fabulous rooms with engineer Kenneth Pineda…Sophie B. Hawkins was working on new material with producer/engineer/studio owner Fab Dupont. Tracking was done in the Dangerous room, and mixing was done in the Fabulous room…Buika was in the Dangerous room with engineer Dan Cherouny…Paul Baloche was in the Dangerous room with engineer Daniel Sanint…Sterling Fox was in the Dangerous room with engineer Sanint…Flux also played host to The RapFest Rooftop Graffiti, with sponsors All The Right, who donated the paint; Belaire, Modelo and Victoria, who donated drinks; and Social Decay, who donated clothing gear. The RapFest wanted to shine a light on Graffiti art and the pillars that keep it alive in New York City. Flux Studios played host for the event, where notable graffiti artists such as GIZ, Such, Phetus, Yes One and Shiro put together a mural on the rooftop studio.
STRANGE WEATHER, BROOKLYN
TEEN worked on their third full-length album, recorded at a historic theater in Nova Scotia on a mobile rig including API’s The Box. The material is now being mixed at the studio by producer/engineer Daniel Schlett…DIIV recorded their follow-up to 2012’s Oshin, which was done at the studio’s old space. After leaving to mix elsewhere, they’ve now returned to remix the album with engineer Schlett…Walter Martin (of the Walkmen) has been mixing his new album with engineers Marc Alan Goodman and Schlett…Dutch artist Amber Arcades worked with producer/engineer Ben Greenberg tracking a new album.
EUSONIA STUDIOS
All of the following projects took place at Eusonia Studios, with producer/writer/mixer/studio owner Scott Jacoby producing and engineering, Jack Dine second engineering (and handling additional production), and Carl Vanasse and Easton Morang assisting: Producing and mixing a new album for Ronnie Spector (former lead singer of the Ronettes). The album contains Spector’s favorite cover songs from the British Invasion…Co-writing Rachel Platten’s song “Congratulations” (from the Fight Song EP)…Mixing a new EP for Tiger + Man (which will be mastered by Emily Lazar at The Lodge)…Producing, engineering and mixing a new EP for Kori Withers (daughter of legendary Bill Withers)…Production, mixing and tracking with Cory Henry (keyboard player from Snarky Puppy)…Produced/mixed new single “All Of The Stars” by Jackie Evancho, a 15-year-old phenom from America’s Got Talent.
BREWERY RECORDING STUDIO
ILoveMakonnen, Drake’s new addition to Ovo Records, has been working a lot out of the Brewery since moving to New York this spring. Aside from finishing up his mixtape Drink More Water 5, Makonnen has also been working with producers Metro Boomin and Sonny Digital on new tracks in preparation for a debut album, with Andrew Krivonos engineering…Asberry Boys have been tracking a debut album with producer/engineer Nick D’Alessandro (Sam Tabul also produced). To capture the seven-piece band’s huge sound, they used most of the studio’s preamps, compressors, and EQs during tracking and mixing, including Telefunken AK-47s, Audio-Technica AT 4060 and AKG C 414s…Three-piece pop group Life of Dillon finished their EP, with singer Joe Griffith recording final vocals through a Neumann M 149. They also used the Equator Q15 speakers and a KRK sub. Most of the mixing was done in Ableton Live. The band self-produced…Chynna Rogers worked on her new EP with producer Da$h and engineer Krivonos. Krivonos liked using the UAD 1176 compressors on Chynna’s voice as a substitute for hardware that was more time consuming to reset…Turbz has been working with engineer Parker Irizarry to get the mix right on his remix to an unreleased Mannie Fresh a cappella. The track also has a feature from Juvenile of Cash Money Records. Turbz also produced…The studio also recently celebrated its sixth anniversary with almost 200 guests, with performances from Creative Gold, I$o Indies, Dai Burger, SMTH, Woodro Skillson and DJ Chiinky.

Mr. Probz mastered his multi-Platinum single “Waves” in the Mastering studio, with chief mastering engineer Mark B. Christensen…Senior mastering engineer Andy VanDette recently mastered Sevendust’s upcoming album Kill The Flaw (to be released in October). VanDette also mastered projects for Matthew Good and Andy Snitzer…Trey Songz stopped by to discuss the progress of his Trigga Reloaded album and Intermission I & II EPs with studio manager Scott Lee. Intermission I & II were mixed by Anthony “AntMixedIt” Daniel in his suite at Engine Room. Daniel also mixed four songs off Trigga Reloaded. Both projects were mastered by Christensen…Engine Room Audio hosts The Loudspeakers Network (LSN) podcasts, which feature the Combat Jack Show, Angela Yee’s Lip Service, Brilliant Idiots, Red Light Special, The Reed, Just Sayin, Taxstone and Ice T…Sean Paul worked on a new single with Ryan Leslie.
