On October 22, the San Francisco Chapter of the Recording Academyhosted an open forum discussion with producer/engineer Ed Cherney(Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, Neil Diamond), who sharedengineering techniques and tips with a crowd of producers, engineersand other members of the local music community.

Mastering engineer and chapter governor Paul Stubblebine moderatedthe talk, which was held at the Plant in Sausalito, Cal. Cherney, whorecently completed the forthcoming Rolling Stones 4 Flicks live DVDset, also discussed the pros and cons of 5.1 mixing, and his views onDSD and DVD-A. A tour of the Plant, along with a brief 4 Flickslistening/viewing session, followed the talk.
