London (September 24, 2010)–Producer/Mixer Yoad Nevo has opened a new, large-scale studio facility in London: Nevo Sound Studio.
The studio sports 2-ton sound absorbers; a custom-made 60/92 Neve 5116 Console, customized and installed by Malcolm Atkin of Air Studios; ATC monitoring; a digital editing suite; a collection of new and vintage microphones; analog and digital synths; acoustic and electric guitars; basses; other, more exotic, stringed instruments; amps; a Yamaha Maple Custom drum kit and numerous percussion instruments and sound-making toys. The studio is also fully surround capable and post-friendly with a large 72″ screen.
Nevo remarked, “I truly believe musicians and engineers want to work in a large room full of instruments, where the back of the control room and the front sound the same, where they have a full souped up Logic and Pro Tools rig – but also a Neve console for mixing and summing, a tape machine, and other warm outboard gear, all hooked up all the time. This is how inspired records happen, and being able to build a studio like this in London, while keeping it affordable enough to fit today’s industry, is a longtime dream for me.”
Nevo is a producer, mixer and mastering engineer and can be heard on tracks by Pet Shop Boys, Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Moby, Air, Goldfrapp, Jem, The Bangles, Dave Gahan, Duran Duran, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Aleasha Dixon, Dandy Warhols, Morcheeba, Ronan Keating, Mark Owen, Giggs, Lisa Maffia, Arthur Baker, Youth, Holly Johnson, Bryan Adams and others.
Nevo has also spent the past 15 years working with Waves Audio as a Product Developer for sound processors such a L2, L3, L316, Linear Phase EQ, Masters Bundle, BCL hardware and others. He owns several patents in the field of digital audio, including Real Time Convolution and Stereo to Surround processes, and is the author of the 2007 book, Hit Record – An Inside Track to Music Production.
