ProMix Electrotec is providing an L-Acoustic’s V-DOSC line array sound system for Bob Dylan’s current world tour, which started in January. ProMix is using six XTA DP226 crossovers to control all the V-DOSC main, sidefill and sub-bass cabinets in the rig, plus rear-delay cabinets when used. The DP226 allows for the creation and storage of upward of 35 distinct speaker configuration settings… EML, one of the largest European rental companies, has taken delivery of the first Midas Legend 3000 console, serial no. 001. EML’s purchase manager Wim Jans notes that EML’s client roster includes major touring productions, television, theater and corporate events. “Midas XL4s and Heritage 3000s are perfect for the big shows with the budgets to match,” says Jans. “The Legend offers us the same Midas quality and sound for our midrange customers and smaller shows.”…The once-legendary El Goya Latin club in Ybor City, the Cuban district of Tampa, recently re-opened as a high-energy dance club dubbed the Pleasuredome. Sound designer/contractor Jim Pici of Theatre Max specified eight Bag End quad-18 Quartz speaker systems to supply the bass. For mids and highs, Pici flew eight Bag End Crystal sound systems above the main dance floor of the 1,000-seat club. The Quartz subs are controlled by a Bag End ELF (Extended Low-Frequency) signal processor and powered by four QSC Powerlight 4.0 amplifiers. A pair of QSC Powerlight 3.4 amps powers the Crystals.
