Now Shipping: Eventide Reverb and Octavox Harmonizer

Eventide announced that they have begun shipping its new Reverb and Octavox™ Harmonizer® diatonic pitch-shifter plug-ins for Pro Tools for Mac Version

Eventide announced that they have begun shipping its new Reverb and Octavox™ Harmonizer® diatonic pitch-shifter plug-ins for Pro Tools for Mac Version 5.1.3 or greater. The launch of the two plug-ins follows the release of Clockworks Legacy™ plug-ins and are available from authorized Eventide software dealers.

Octavox ($595) was created based on the multivoice pitch shifter from Orville and allows users to create stacked harmonies and wide choirs locked to the tempo of the session. The graphical user interface contains everything needed to load, edit and save a preset, gives access to the pitch-shifting capabilities and provides control of the pitch and delays using the Notation Grid™.

The Notation Grid presents pitches on a traditional music staff with a quantized beat grid superimposed for placing notes over time. While the standard Pro Tools Save and Recall features are supported, Eventide’s Snapshot feature provides capture or recall parameter settings via mouse, and can be used to instantly rearrange the entire sequence. Instrument presets configure the pitch-recognition parameters to be optimized for a given instrument. A randomizer is included, which can be used to simulate the natural character of eight individual sound sources or for more exotic applications.

The Eventide Reverb plug-in ($695) uses reverb algorithms from the Orville, including halls, chambers, plates, rooms, ambience and lo-fi effects. Each reverb type offers 3-band stereo parametric equalization both before and after the reverb, reverb contour for built-in tone shaping, a pair of delay lines with filters and a compressor.

The graphical user interface of Reverb features all of the tools in a single window. Like Octavox, Reverb includes the Snapshot function, providing an intuitive way to capture or recall parameter settings via mouse.

Hardware control of the Eventide Reverb and Octavox plug-ins includes support for the Digidesign ProControl and Control24, and the Mackie HUI.
