San Francisco, CA (July 26, 2012)—Pyramind’s Studio A, reportedly San Francisco’s largest surround mix room and dubbing stage, was recently renovated and upgraded to an 11.2 Meyer Sound Cinema Surround speaker system.

Studio A’s 11.2 system comprises three Meyer Sound Acheron studio screen channel loudspeakers, eight HMS-10 cinema surround loudspeakers, two x-800C high-power cinema subwoofers and two Galileo 408 loudspeaker management systems. Dennis P. Stearns performed the renovation and Meyer Sound handled the installation. The sound system and Studio A mix room was tuned by Bob Hodas for stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 DTS and Dolby Digital surround.

Pyramind’s Studio A uses a Mac Pro Eight Core Tower and an Avid 16-channel HD/IO interface running Pro Tools 10, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and Reason. An HP gaming PC has been added for playback of video game builds and real-time interactive mixing. The control surface is an Avid D-Command with X-Mon and surround panner.

All of Pyramind’s studios have extensive plug-in architectures as well as server-fed access to both custom music and sound effects libraries, as well as libraries from EastWest, Project SAM, Vienna Symphonic and more. Studio A has a sonically isolated voiceover room and a 300-sq.-ft. live tracking room, complete with Foley pits for creating live sound effects and sound design. The 500-sq.-ft. control room has been outfitted with a 22-ft. projection screen, an Epson HD projector and Marantz AV7005 Receiver for HDMI distribution.

Pyramind Studios, located in the heart of San Francisco’s creative development community, is a game audio production company, offering interactive sound development services and music production. In 2011, Pyramind Studios received two G.A.N.G. (Game Audio Network Guild) awards for Best Interactive Score and Best Use of Licensed Music, as well as nominations for Music Of The Year and Best Original Instrumental for Kinect Disneyland Adventures, as well as a nomination for Best Soundtrack Album for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
