SAE Opens Doors to New York Campus

Following its grand opening during the 2003 AES Convention, SAE Institute recently hosted an industry-wide open house highlighting its New York campus

Following its grand opening during the 2003 AES Convention, SAE Institute recently hosted an industry-wide open house highlighting its New York campus facility located on Herald Square in midtown Manhattan.

The new SAE campus studio and instruction complex houses 33 studios/technology labs/personal workstations, providing an array of studio setups and situations. The complex’s main studios offers a Neve 88R and an SSL4000 G+ consoles, respectively, along with an additional Control 24 surround suite with THX-certified monitoring from Blue Sky International. The facility, which is now 50 percent larger than SAE New York’s original location, also contains three Pro Tools suites with Macintosh G5s and Mackie HD2 recorders, three isolated MIDI production suites and four audio-enhanced classrooms. The school’s wide-ranging audio curriculum covers areas from surround sound and DVD authoring to large-format console studio and mix sessions. The studios’ layout and design allow for interactive connectivity between rooms.
